ivorce coaches are useful in litigious as well as friendly divorces; and clearly most useful in the latter situation. The Coach becomes the most essential item in your survival kit, to prop you up when you are despondent, to provide reassurance when you are assailed, to keep you focused on the important issues, to keep you mindful of the type of behavior that will get you exactly what you deserve and to help you prioritize, so you can to lead your attorney in a proactive and productive fashion.
Daunted by the myriad of unknowns, terrified and alone, doubting a very undependable system, you will find your ultimate ally in your coach. This is someone who will hold the light and take you down the path, to boldly face reality and to pick your battles well, so you spend your attorney money wisely. Even if you have a great attorney you will find it cost effective and emotionally sound to have a collaborator for this difficult journey. Attorney time should be spent dealing with the legal aspects of your case, with giving you advise and advocating for you in Court or at the settlement table. Generally attorneys are not appropriate hand holders, and if they do so, then they are very expensive hand holders.
What better than having a coach who not only has extensive experience as such, but who also happens to be an attorney taking this different path? That is me, Melanie Nathan. I have big degrees and all the accoutrements. Now while I am not a replacement and nor a cheap way out of your need for a legal advisor or attorneys, I can certainly help you with questions, ideas, choices and am quite creative in doing so. What I do, for want of a better way of describing it, is pretend that I am in your shoes. Now that does not mean I take on a phony persona; what it does mean is that I proceed with you as if I am you, but without your emotional hardship that serves to impact the process in a negative way. I become the sounding board and the sound mind, as I help you to navigate the process. I can help you in many ways.
Given my twenty years experience in the field and my legal practice, I am enormously insightful and have a deep understanding of the law itself; and stand apart from most coaches as a result. I have mediated divorce cases and understand the psychology and nuances, and thus have developed a keen instinct that serves my coaching clients well.
I will educate you, provide you with valuable reading material, help you make decisions, help diffuse anger, surpass assumptions, develop strategies and assist in transitions for you and your children, as well as provide my own time tested resources. I will help you analyze your attorney’s performance and provide some checks and balances.
While attorneys are retained to represent the best interest of their clients and advocate for them in Court or to work toward settlement as the case may be, coaching provides a framework for your divorce, organization and is goal oriented. A good coach helps you find clarity to enable you to communicate with all professionals, evaluators, investigators in an effective manner. So with all said, I welcome the opportunity to hear your story, to listen well, and to provide you with this extraordinary way to manage and see your process through in the most effective, productive and accomplished way possible.
Your stress will be relieved by this support and the resulting constructive plan. Your children will benefit from your strength a direct result of the encouragement and well-deserved validation you are receiving. They will be supported by you and not used by you, ever damaging result in divorce. Your children will receive guidance from you and protocols to assist in their transition and to relieve their misconceptions, so that the divorce does not have to be the defining trauma of their lives. You will be able to cope with your regular daily life, as you suffer the inevitable abrasions of difficult litigation; you will learn how to harness and relieve your anger; you will have a process for grief.
Call me and let me explain the options and packages I offer. I limit the number of clients I take on so that I can give you my absolute attention.
