INTERNATIONAL CHILD CUSTODY
|
IF YOU ARE divorcing or parenting with a foreign national (a person who holds a different passport to you) or with a person who has family ties in a different country, it is very important to address the issue of child abduction by reflecting on it as a possibility. Therefore obtaining legal advice as to how to preempt these issues by dealing with them upfront in a legal document such as a Stipulation to Court under Hague Convention; an Agreement that holds up in foreign Jurisdiction; just to name a few possible ways to protect your children and your own rights. Do not wait for it to be too late. There are preemptive protective methods.
Also consider mediation with a qualified mediator to reach an agreement with your co-parent; or to reach a custody agreement. In high risk cases it is important to use an attorney who is a specialist in the field to advise you through the mediation process.

If the mother is an Arab Muslim, judges will usually not grant her custody of children unless she is residing in Saudi Arabia, or the father is not a Muslim. All Saudi citizens are considered to be Muslim. Read More..

ISRAEL: Domestic relations matters in Israel are in the jurisdiction of two separate court systems: the civil courts and the religious courts. The jurisdiction of the religious courts is exclusive in some areas of domestic relations, and concurrent with the civilian courts in others. The jurisdictional rules applying to mixed marriages, and members of no recognized religion are unique and will not be discussed here. Read more..
